I am a qualified Sports Therapist and massage in pregnancy practitioner backed up by a degree in sport and exercise science.
After completing my degree, I realised that the part of the course that had interested me most was the anatomy and physiology, learning how our body works and what can cause it to stop working so effectively.
This led me to go straight back to ‘school’ where I completed my diploma in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy (Dip FTST) with Premier Training and Development Ltd. This course gave me a wide range of knowledge and qualifications in everything from fitness instruction, personal training and sports nutrition to body massage, sports therapy and sports massage. I loved every second of that course!
I enjoy learning so have gone on to complete a very detailed qualification in massage for pregnancy with well respected international company Well Mother. I also trained in Hot Stones Massage, an Advanced Diploma in Nutrition and a number of other short courses to keep my knowledge current. I am currently working on a short course in Geriatric Massage.
Since training I have had treatment rooms at gyms in both Nottingham and Derby, worked with local athletics and rugby clubs and even taught sports massage as an evening course.
I have now been practicing sports and massage therapy for 17 years and running my home-based business since 2008.
I love what I do and have had the privilege of working with all different kinds of people from all walks of life. Some very young, some not so, (my current regular oldest is a wonderful lady in her eighties) some who compete in Iron Man and ultra-marathon events and some whose desk-based job or stressful lifestyle gives them reason to visit.
Every single person who comes along has their own story to tell and I aim to keep learning from each and every one of them and becoming a better therapist by doing so.
