Sports/remedial massage is a deeper, more targeted form of massage than a standard relaxing massage treatment. At Nurture Massage Therapy, each treatment is specifically adapted to each individual at that particular session.
This means that it does not follow a routine as such but it does mean that if there is an area that is causing you any discomfort or pain it will be targeted and additional time spent on it.
Single Treatments
Neck and Shoulders
What: This treatment is performed with the client seated on a specifically designed massage chair which alleviates pressure on the back and allows the therapist to work all around the neck and shoulder area all the way to just below the shoulder blade (scapula).
Why: This massage therapy treatment is perfect for alleviating stress and tension across the neck and shoulders, working on injuries in the area and is ideal for those who work at a computer all day.
Perfect combined with the lower back treatment to leave the whole of the back, neck and shoulders feeling great.
Lower Back
What: This treatment is performed in a front lying position on the couch and generally works from the shoulder blades down to just below the hips.
Why: This treatment is designed to help alleviate lower back pain and improve movement and ease discomfort caused by sitting for long periods or lifting or twisting injuries as well as longer term chronic pain.
Perfect combined with both legs and neck and shoulders to feel revitalised all over.
Legs
What: Each leg is worked on both front and back from a seated then front lying position on the couch.
Why: Most often used for injury prevention or rehabilitation. This massage therapy treatment is great for those who are active often and want to avoid injury.
Perfect combined with lower back particularly if there’s any hamstring discomfort.
Double Treatments
Full Back
The full back treatments is the Neck and Shoulders treatment combined with the Lower Back treatment to give your back a complete relax and refresh.
The client has the option of moving from the treatment chair to the couch for the most benefit.
Back and Legs
This combines the Lower Back and Legs treatment to focus on treating injuries and discomfort where issues can often be related to both areas.
Neck, Shoulders and Legs
As an alternative, you’re able to also combine the Neck and Shoulders treatment with the Legs treatment to focus on the areas that suit your specific needs. This is ideal for sports where these areas are more rigorously tested, such as swimming.
Triple Treatment
This combines all three treatments – Neck and Shoulders, Lower Back, and Legs – to provide a full body massage to balance and relax the muscles in addition to working on any injuries or tension.
Why not go for all three and see how much better you feel afterwards?
